Lift your heart up to God, with a gentle stirring of love desiring Him for His own sake and not for His gifts. Center all your attention and desire on Him and reflect on the following as you focus on or touch each bead.

1. purple (royalty) bead - God made us to magnify His greatness--the way telescopes magnify stars. He created us to put His goodness, truth, beauty, wisdom and justice on display. The greatest display of God's glory comes from deep enjoyment in all that He is. Express to God what you love about Him and how He awes you.

2. gray (shadow) bead - A shadow is darkness that is cast between us and something else. Our purpose is to show God's value by being satisfied with all that He is for us. This is the essence of loving God and trusting Him. None of us have trusted and enjoyed God the way we should. We have sought our satisfaction in other things, and treated them as more valuable than God. Express to God about your failures, your wounds, your disappointments, your struggles or anything that has created a shadow between you and others or you and God.

3. red (blood) bead - Jesus Christ's blood was shed in order that there no longer be a shadow between us and God. Ask God to forgive your failures and to give you a love for those who have failed you.

4. blue (cleansing) bead - Because of the sacrifice Jesus made you are clean in the eyes of a pure and holy God by placing your faith in all that God promises to be for us in Jesus. Express to God that you trust Him to cleanse you.

5. green (growth) bead - Our spiritual formation and development is always taking place no matter where we are or what we are doing. The more we cherish God, the more He is glorified. Ask God to lead you to live in a way that will honor Him.

6. yellow and black (light and dark) bead - The primary task for God's people is to be a light in a dark world. Express to God what you will do today to be a light to others. Say how you will give up what is convenient, comfortable, or self-centered in order to do good for others.
